The City of Edmonton contracted us to capture timelapse footage of an older Edmonton neighbourhood be renewed with new sidewalks, roads and streetlights. The timelapse footage will be mixed in with real-time cinematic footage and interviews to create an explainer video about all the work that goes into renewing a neighbourhood.
For this project, we built two custom weatherproof enclosures with a DSLR, miniPC and wireless internet card so that we could remotely log into the cameras to check on footage and adjust exposure. Each system is powered by a lead acid battery which last about six days before we need to swap it.
